VH1 Greatest Hard Rock Songs was a program on VH1 Classic provided by VH1. Hosted by Bret Michaels, it was a five-part program that first aired from December 29, 2008, to January 2, 2009. Unlike most countdowns on VH1 Classic, it consisted of songs by modern bands, including Creed, Foo Fighters, Buckcherry, and The Darkness. Commentary over the songs was provided by the likes of David Coverdale, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Ronnie James Dio, Slash, Lemmy, Sebastian Bach, Dee Snider, Sammy Hagar, Scott Stapp, Joe Perry, Rob Halford, Ted Nugent, Amy Lee, Edgar Winter, Nikki Sixx, Andrew W.K., Scott Ian, Dave Mustaine, Alice Cooper, Scott Weiland, Kip Winger, Don Dokken, Dave Navarro and more.

It was voted on by the general public at the VH1 website in 2008. In total, VH1 received over 600,000 votes.
